1. What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of browser data. Similar technologies such as local browser storage can serve related purposes. They do not give AllNaijaMarket access to unrelated personal files, applications, photographs, contacts or messages on your device.

2. Essential cookies and storage

Essential cookies/storage support login sessions, security, CSRF protection, account continuity and preferences. Where the Promoter Programme is active, essential first-party storage may also support first-visitor attribution, duplicate prevention and fraud/security controls needed to determine whether a Promoter visit is genuine and previously uncounted.

Blocking or clearing essential storage may prevent login, dashboards or other core features from working correctly. It may also remove a browser-side Promoter recognition token, although server-side attribution, payment, security or fraud-prevention records may still be retained where reasonably necessary.

3. Promoter Programme attribution storage

When a person opens AllNaijaMarket through a valid Promoter link, AllNaijaMarket may use first-party identifiers such as anm_promoter_visitor and anm_promoter_device, together with corresponding local browser storage, to recognise that browser/device environment for Promoter attribution, duplicate prevention, account-integrity checks and fraud prevention.

These values are randomly generated recognition tokens. They are not IMEI numbers, telephone serial numbers or hardware identifiers supplied by the phone manufacturer, and they do not allow AllNaijaMarket to inspect unrelated content on the device.

The Promoter recognition cookies may be configured for a long duration, currently up to approximately five years, because the programme rule is intended to avoid repeatedly counting the same recognised visitor for different Promoters. Server-side records may be retained separately where reasonably necessary for payout reconciliation, duplicate-account prevention, fraud/security investigations, audit or legal obligations.

These Promoter attribution/security identifiers are treated by AllNaijaMarket as necessary to the operation and integrity of the Promoter Programme when that programme is active. Turning off optional analytics or advertising preferences does not disable storage that is strictly used for those attribution and security purposes.

4. Google sign-in

When you choose Continue with Google, Google Identity Services may use cookies/browser storage under Google's policies for account selection, authentication and security. AllNaijaMarket receives the signed identity credential needed for sign-in, not your Google password.

5. Analytics and advertising

Where enabled, analytics/performance technologies help measure traffic, errors and usability. Advertising technologies may support measurement or delivery. Optional technologies are subject to applicable consent/preference controls.

6. Third parties

Providers supporting payments, bank-account resolution and transfers, authentication, analytics, security, maps/location, advertising or other functions may use their own cookies or similar technologies where required by their services and policies. Paystack may process payment or bank-transfer information when its checkout, verification or transfer services are used; AllNaijaMarket's first-party Promoter recognition tokens are separate from Paystack's provider-side technologies.

7. Your choices

Use AllNaijaMarket Cookie Settings where available or your browser controls. Blocking essential cookies/storage may break core features. Optional preferences do not disable storage strictly necessary for security, a requested service, or the integrity of an active Promoter attribution/reward programme.

You can clear browser cookies or local storage through your browser/device settings. Doing so may remove browser-side identifiers, but it does not automatically delete server-side records that AllNaijaMarket is entitled or required to retain for security, fraud prevention, payout reconciliation, accounting, audit or legal purposes. 8. Retention, updates and contact

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose. Session cookies may expire when a session ends or according to account-security rules; longer-lived first-party recognition tokens may remain for the period stated above unless cleared earlier.
